NYFW 2017 - Day 4

Here I am finally, covering NYFW Day 4, the last day of the NYFW that I am covering this season.

In the first part of the day I am attending the  Lavanya Coodly’s show at the AMCONYC 's charming venue.  (You can read my previous post here where I covered a few more shoes hosted by AMCONYC). I take a peek behind the scenes and meet the designer. She is effervescent and candid, and passionate, just like her collection.

Below are some candid shots behind the scenes.

She explains that the vision behind her collection was to give the city girl and updated look where traditional elements are fresher than ever in order to add character and singularity.

Her collection takes us through day wear, evening wear, red carpet looks and even menswear. There is intricate construction and embroidery and cool styling, all meant to delight and amaze.  The modern muse is both inspired and satisfied, I ponder, if she chooses to wear any pieces from this collection.

In the evening, I hurry to the Zang Toi's show at Pier 59. I see cool layering and simplicity intertwined with utter elegance. There are headbands, and flowers and lots of violet hues.

There is also a lot of sheen in trench coats. I decide that everything on the fashionable menu is a must-have. The simplicity is sublime, elegant and self-sufficient. There is nothing to add or remove. I also realize that my outfit is totally in sync with his collection :-)

Below I recreated my last 2 looks that I wore on NYFW day 4 as the lighting was not my friend at those venues.
