How to Style Thick Knits when you are Petite

Love knits but worried that they will add too much volume to your small frame? Read on as this post is certainly for you.

I used to stay away from looser fits and thicker knits although I admired them on taller women. But since I started my fashion blog, I realized that there really aren’t any hard rules when it comes to styling. Tall or petite, the shape and proportions play an important part in the way the clothes will frame your body. So, in the end, it is all about knowing your proportions and what works for you.

STYLETIP: If you want to style looser sweaters or layer ticker knits, here are a few tips that you can adapt to your personal style, depending on your look:

  1.  Control the volume. Specifically, if you are going to style a thicker sweater, then wear skinny jeans or a midi pencil skirt. You will still look slender and add a little edginess to your entire look.
  2.  If you want to play with looser fits, like I did in this post, make sure you cinch your waist. That will elongate the entire look.
