There has been a micro-trend lately of white and cream color combinations. The jury is still out on that: some say go for it and some say stay away from it. I am a firm believer that, really, there are no rules. If you are creative and have an eye for proportions and color combinations, you can style anything.

That’s what I love about fashion: it’s such a great creative outlet and opportunity to uniquely express yourself. Essentially, you are given a puzzle of colors and textures each season and you have to figure out how to put together a winning look. Isn’t that fun? :-)

So here is me, styling whites and several shades of creams in my top and handbag.  And speaking of handbags, this one is such a keeper. I love that it has such clean and minimal lines. I can wear it for seasons to come and not feel outdated. Love also the two neutral shades and the gold hardware that makes it look so luxurious and sleek. But what I like the best and why I chose this bag is because it has TEXTURE grace to the two materials used: leather and suede.

I love texture: it always brings dimension. Texture makes all the difference when you style a monochromatic look because you create volumes and indentations. Texture is the equivalent of today’s make-up contouring. It brings out or even creates certain visual shapes or impressions.

That’s why I love this Hieleven crossbody bag and why I am adding it to my “timeless” bag collection in my closet.

Thank you so much for reading.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I’ll see you again soon.
