How To Look Luxurious In A Simple Fall Outfit

Funnily enough I like this in between seasons time. Summer is my happy place and I am not a big fan of fall and winter but I do like wearing light knits and cashmere and they are perfect for these in-between times.

Today I want to feature a simple and affordable outfit and give you a few tips on how you can make is look luxurious. I feel like a lot of women wonder how they can make a simple outfit look luxurious without breaking the bank, so, today, I will share some of my tips on how to achieve such a look. I also wrote similar post on How To Make An Affordable Dress Look Luxurious.

STYLE TIPS:

  1. Pick monochromatic pieces. Monochromatic doesn't me mean all-white or all-black, it means it has to be from the same family color palette. I did feature olive colored items in my look but you can very well go for ivory and white or beige and camel combos. That would still be monochromatic and I find that outfits in the same hue family tend to look luxurious on their own.
  2. Pick great textures, such as linens, textured cottons, chunky knit or open knits, and  cashmere (I know this one can run pricey  but you can get a cashmere top for $25- $40 as well at Nordstrom Rack or Century21 Stores. )
  3. Add metallic accents with your jewelry or/and shoes or bags. There is something really chic about big chunky pieces of jewelry with plain designs. Go for the oversized simple ones as they tend to loo very unique, OR
  4. Add shoes and/or bags that have interesting metallic accents, like I did, or some kind of cool textures/outline, such as rope, for example. In today's outfit, I featured a very affordable pair of shoes that have metallic chain details and that I think look incredibly stylish (they are under $20 and I have linked them HERE ) but I also carried a bag that is on the expensive side  (it is an Alexander Wang  clutch and I have linked below a similar style and alternatives) just to show that the cheap shoes can look very chic and expensive too and can be a great contender or match to an expensive piece. I got compliments on these shoes every time I wore them.
